I built my first Drupal site template, and you can too

Have you ever looked at the growing ecosystem of Drupal Recipes and Site Templates and wondered, "How hard is it to build and publish one of these myself?" The answer is: you can absolutely do it, and this session will show you how.

In this presentation, I’ll share my personal journey of building my very first Drupal site template. I will walk you through how I took the Event Platform Starter Recipe and transformed it into the fully realized "Summit" site template. I’ll pull back the curtain on the real-world challenges, the "aha!" moments, and the step-by-step workflow required to go from a local concept to a published solution.

We will demystify the technical work required—from configuration and packaging to testing—and break down the process of getting your template successfully listed in the marketplace. Whether you want to streamline your agency's workflow or contribute back to the Drupal community, you'll leave this session with the confidence and knowledge to build your own site template.
