Announcing NEDCamp 2018

  • Time to read 1 minute

The 5th Annual New England Drupal Camp, sponsored by Oomph, will be on November 16 & 17 at Rhode Island College in Providence, RI.

NEDCamp is an opportunity to learn, share, and network within the Drupal community.  For the past two years, we have identified a focus for the camp, which is an opportunity to give extra attention to a topic that is important to the community. The camp focus in 2018 is (drum roll...) DevOps, anchored with a keynote presentation from the maintainer of DrupalVM and author of Ansible for DevOps, Jeff Geerling.   Along with a variety of Drupal topics, we have full-day training and sessions dedicated to learning more DevOps.

The Camp

Friday, November 16, is training day.  We have full day hands-on training sessions aggressively discounted at $100 (early bird).   Visit our training page to learn about these opportunities; seats are limited.   For those in town on Friday evening, we will have a gathering somewhere in the Providence area.

Saturday, November 17, includes a full day of sessions and a keynote presentation.  Breakfast, lunch, and an after-party are provided.  The $20 registration fee also includes the 2018 NEDCamp T-Shirt.  You can register online now.

Rhode Island College

We are excited to be back in Rhode Island and partnering with Rhode Island College.  In the previous four years, we’ve hosted this camp at private, state, and Ivy League schools.  You will be as impressed with Rhode Island College as we were during our visits leading up to this announcement.   They not only have a state of the art facility, they have a team focused on working with us to create the best event possible.

Session Submissions

Session submissions are open until September 1.  While the focus of NEDCamp is DevOps, a majority of the sessions will cover a broad range of Drupal topics.   Feel free to submit one or more sessions for consideration.

Sponsorship

This Drupal camp, or any other, cannot exist without the financial support of our sponsors.   We are providing more sponsorship options this year.   They are designed to have more flexibility in commitment level.  You can review the sponsorship options at www.NEDCamp.org/sponsorship.   If you would like to help in some other way, contact us at admin@nedcamp.org.

We are lucky, in New England, to have a core group of companies that support Drupal.   Oomph is stepping up again to be our event sponsor.   In addition to their financial support, their staff has dedicated many hours to organizing, presenting, and attending NEDCamp.   Like Oomph, Redfin immediately responded “yes” when we inquired about sponsoring again for 2018.  Thanks Chris, Patrick, and Chris W.

It is the continued support of folks like Oomph and Redfin that make it easier to put this event together.   Check out our sponsorship page and join the ranks of these fine community supporters!

In Conclusion

The NEDCamp team has done it’s job to get the ball rolling.   It is now up to you to make this camp better than great.  You can do that by submitting sessions, registering, sponsoring at any level, and spreading the word.  #nedcamp
